The Law Against Drunkenness

 

Be it enacted by the Authority aforesaid that every person disordering & abusing himself with Drink unto drunkenness being Legally convicted thereof, shall for the first time pay 5 shillings or work 5 days in the house of Correction at hard Labour & be fed only with bread & water, and for the second Offence & ever after 10 shillings or 10 days labour as aforesaid.
