(May 14, 2024) Governor Tom Ridge, who served for many years as Chairman of the Board of the National Organization on Disability, today reflected on his partnership with longtime NOD President Carol Glazer.
“As the National Organization on Disability welcomes its next leader, the talented and accomplished Beth Sirull, I must take a moment to share some thoughts about Carol Glazer and thank her for her incredible achievements on behalf of disabled Americans.
Ensuring that people with disabilities have access to equal employment opportunities isn’t only about civil rights. America’s success in the world depends on how well we inspire and put to use the talents and energies of every person in this country. That sentiment is what drove Carol and me forward every day of our nearly 20-year partnership.
Carol has been the absolute right leader NOD needed since her arrival at what was then an uncertain time for the organization. The innovations around disability employment that she put into place, leading a talented staff that she assembled, have stood the test of time. Our wounded veterans, recent college graduates, and anyone with a disability who simply wanted the opportunity to work and contribute meaningfully to society have been the beneficiaries of her talents.
Thank you, Carol. We can’t wait to see what’s next…”
