Caring for Yourself and Health Care Workers During the Pandemic

Healthcare workers must remember to take care of themselves in addition to those they are caring for. “The anxiety and fear resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic can be profound, and nowhere is that more evident than with front line healthcare workers. Working long hours in substandard conditions with patients who are often very ill and highly contagious, they fear for their personal health and that of their families.”
Celebrating the ADA’s 30th Anniversary
On July 21, the George & Barbara Bush Foundation and NOD convened key activists, advocates, and policymakers who helped make the Americans with Disabilities Act a reality for a bipartisan celebration of that landmark civil rights legislation. They also discussed the challenges that will shape the future of the disability movement, such as supporting those with individuals with disabilities in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. Seniors and people with disabilities have been especially hard hit by this pandemic.
Traumatic Brain Injury Website and Conference
Our partner, the National Association of State Head Injury Administrators recently launched a new website! In September, they are holding a virtual conference that will include a combination of live and recorded sessions in a variety of formats and an exhibit hall for event sponsors and attendees to network and collaborate.

LeadingAge PA members, employees, and spouses/partners have been given clear access to Harrisburg University of Science and Technology courses and programs at a reduced rate thanks to an exciting agreement recently reached between the University and the trade/professional association for nonprofit senior living organizations.
